An ultrathin flap is created on the surface of the cornea with a femtosecond laser or a sharp blade.
2 - Laser treatment

The excimer laser is applied to the cornea underneath the flap.
3 - Put the flap back
The corneal flap is returned to its original position at the end of surgery.
